Know the requirements to qualify for PMP exam
You should hold a baccalaureate or an equivalent university degree and should have a minimum of 4,500 hours (ie at least 3 years) of project management experience within the five process groups within the last 6 years.

If you dont have a baccalaureate or an equivalent university degree, then you should hold a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school credential. Such candidates should have a minimum of 7,500 hours (at least 5 years) of project management experience within the five process groups within the last 8 years.

Complete the online form available in PMI website and wait for approval

Once form is completed and submitted, you will get an eligibility letter stating your completion of the application form. You need to pay a fixed amount as exam fee. There is slight variation in amount for members and non-members.

You need to submit relevant documents showing your eligibility and qualification. Once verifiication and other processes are over, you will receive a notification to choose your nearest exam center and select from the available test dates.

Start preparing for the examination
Once you have the exam dates, you can start preparing for the exam. Your exam will be computer based, multiple choice format with a total of 200 questions. A total of 137 correct answers will get you your PMP certification.
